Day 9: The Circle of Life Challenge
Objective: Students will identify each stage in a plants life cycle
Materials:
Begin by having students gather on the carpet to watch a brief video on the life cycle of a plant. Students should be familiar with the stages by now but after the video remind them by having students raise their hands and identifying each stage. Once this is complete have students return to their desks and pass out construction paper, markers, and glue sticks. Students will then be asked to create a foldable (see attached images below). They will need three pieces of construction paper to do so. Model how to create foldable so students are clear on the steps. Show how each level contains a stage of the plant life cycle. Pass out images of each stage for students to either cut out and paste on each flap or use a guide to illustrate each step the steps on their own. Once this is complete have students take the foldable home to use to test their own knowledge of each stage.
